Festival Of Birds At WWT Slimbridge

On Saturday the 4th of February Simon and I set out in sub zero temperatures to visit the Festival of Birds at Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust in Slimbridge.

The reason for our trip was to open the newly refurbished hide and otter holt kindly sponsored by Zeiss.

The Trust was founded by the late Sir Peter Scott in 1946, and has become famous for its spectacular array of wildfowl including swans, geese and ducks.

Headed by the former Director-General of UNESCO, Spain’s Prof. Dr. Federico Mayor Zaragoza, Simon and the other judges chose their shortlist of 28 candidates.....
