The Bird Fair Report - By Young Whisperer Christopher Foster

At the Rutland Water Bird Fair my family started at the RSPB. We asked if we could have a place for Pond dipping and minibeast hunting. At the stall in the RSPB Tent, we entered some competitions like find the mammals, and working out the silhouettes of birds and a few more. My sister Charlotte had her face painted. After that we went to the Wildlife Trust tent and me and my sister made a sea horse pencil topper.
Later we went back to the RSPB Tent and did Minibeast hunting with Roger and Rosie Key and Mike Dilger. Then we had our dinner.
Then we went to the Wildlife Whisperer stall and met Jason Alexander. We saw the nest box cameras and wildlife trap cameras. We saw different mammal skulls and mammal poo. The mammal poo looked real but when you touched it, you realised it wasn’t real. On the wildlife whisperer stall we got wildlife whisperer hats. Outside the wildlife whisperer stand we had a book signed by Simon King and we showed him our hats and Wildlife Whisperer reporter badges.

Finally we went pond dipping with Nick Baker which was lots of fun, then we went home. We really enjoyed our trip to the BirdFair. Next year we hope to go camping at the BirdFair so we have time to go around all the stalls and hear all the talks.

You all look great in your Wildlife Whisperer hats and it sounds like you had a great time at Bird Fair this year. A super report with some great photos too! Well done!
