Live Cam 2 - Welcome

Hi and welcome to my first Live Cam blog post on Wildlife Whisperer!

You are able to see some of the many cameras I have in my garden through the live feed on this website. Find out more about them on my website at www.wildlifekate.co.uk. Depending on the time of year and the time of day, you will see different feeds. At the moment, I do not have my cameras in nest boxes. Instead, I have them on my bird feeders, the field next to my garden and my hedgehog and mouse box. Here is a little information about each, so you know what you are looking at! I hope you enjoy the wildlife in my patch.

Bird Feeder Cam
There are a wide selection of feeders in my garden, but I have a camera set up on one of the busiest... a sunflower heart feeder.

There is activity on this feeder for most of the day, with regular visits from most of the tit family, as well as chaffinch, robin and nuthatch. If you are lucky, you may see the bullfinches that have started visiting this winter.

Fox Cam
This camera faces outwards into a field next to my garden. Every night, I put some dried dog biscuits down for my fox family. They visit most nights from 5pm onwards. A dog, vixen and three grown-up cubs visit now on a regular basis.

If you see more than one at the feeding station, then they are probably last year's cubs. The vixen sometimes feeds with them, but the dog fox usually chases them off if he wants to feed. In the summer, I also had hedgehogs feeding here.

Mouse Cam
My mouse cam box is a small wooden box, with an entrance hole cut into it and a nest box camera mounted inside. Wood mice are common visitors in here, both day and night.

Hedgehog Box
My hedgehog box has a nest box camera mounted inside it. During the winter months, I do not get any hedgehog visitors, but I have seen wood mice and voles coming in to take some of the seed and nuts on offer.
