RAB Neutrino Vest
So, you’re out on a walk. It’s warm and dry, and no obvious sign that things are about to change. But you’re in Britain (or just about anywhere else in the northern hemisphere!). About an hour into the journey, the Arctic has decided to pay you a visit, with grey skies and a chill wind. Did you bring a waterproof? Of course you did. Are you cold? Of course you are! Unless of course you packed one of these neat little wonders into your day sack.
The Neutrino down filled puffer waistcoat from RAB is a complete wonder. It weighs just a few grams, squeezes down to nothing in its own stuff sack (and in this form, by the way, is super padding for camera kit in your bag). But it punches well above its weight for warmth.
Mine goes with me everywhere, and more often than not gets put to good use. Because it’s so light, its not really designed to go through bramble bushes or barbed wire fences, so be careful if you want to avoid loosing your stuffing. Under your waterproof, or just to take the chill off at a barbecue, it’s first class.
