Keen Newport Sandal
I am lucky enough to spend as much time in warmer climes with my feet in sandals as I do with them wedged in my wellies or walking boots. And I have tried and tested lots of different sandal brands over the years. Many offered good comfort and arch support but all fell short of being comfortable to walk in on anything but a footpath, for one very good reason - the toe. There is nothing quite as horribly painful as a thorn or twig jamming between your big toenail and your toe. Don’t even mention stumping your toe on a rock! I know, it has happened to me all too often in the past.
That was until I got into a pair of Keen Newport sandals. Oh, the relief of thrashing through scrub or brush with the confidence that the rubber toe guard will keep my tootsies intact!
Great care has been lavished on the overall design of the sandal from the stretch neoprene straps and drawstring lace that ensure comfort and zero rubbing on bare skin, to the moulded arch support. The grip is ace too, with different patterns and materials keeping my sure footage on most surfaces.
I’ve been wearing my pair for over two years and they are still going strong, and that’s a record for me. I usually wear a pair of sandals out after a year maximum, especially if I wade in and out of water in them, (which I do the whole time).
In short, if you are thinking of getting a pair of sandals, and want to be able to walk in them, get these.
