City Fox Cam Update - New Arrivals And Farewells

It is the second month of 2013 and there have been some changes within the fox family on the City Fox Cam. It is time for an update before the possibility of cubs again in March.

Leucistic Dunnock on #CityFoxCam

There have been resident pairs of Dunnocks (Prunella modularis) at the back of the City Fox Cam garden for some years. During early winter we usually have some migrant Dunnocks visiting the garden. So far this year I have counted 8 together. They are timid birds often seen on the ground foraging for insects, spiders and seeds in amongst the flower beds. Their dark brown and grey plumage is good camouflage amongst the leaf litter and bark chippings at the back of the garden.
